Poem: Let Go What Has a Nature to Slip Away | Finding Joy Beyond Time’s Grip

Let Go What Has a Nature to Slip Away

Sometimes time goes by without telling about its departure, just
runs away from our hands,
when our eyes are fixed on something external.
What exactly do we do when we are not looking at something
beautiful and peaceful,
we are trying to look at time,
see it, apply maths to calculate it,
try to be logical about it,
but sometimes it’s good not to be logical,
its okay to not catch up with time,
because it slips by anyways,
and your hard work to catch it goes to vain.
So you might as well
let go what has a nature to slip away
and focus on something that you love to stare at,
because there is no better jailer than love,
and a cage of love can bound a bird that
a cage of gold can’t.
Love would make time stay
if you’re really in love with this moment,
life would stop treading when you find something admirable.
So stop calculating, stop perceiving, stop your malice,
and just look at the bright shining light
of passion, of dreams, of things and all that you hold dear to
your heart.

“Let Go What Has a Nature to Slip Away” is a poem I wrote to highlight the fleeting nature of time and the importance of focusing on what truly matters. It’s about recognizing that time will always move forward, often unnoticed, and that our attempts to control it are often in vain.

In the poem, I start by observing how time often slips away without warning. When we are preoccupied with external distractions, we lose track of it. This reminds me of how easily we can become absorbed in daily routines and miss out on what’s important.

I talk about our tendency to try and measure, calculate, and logically understand time. However, time is not something that can be easily managed or controlled. This poem encourages accepting that it’s okay not to always be logical or focused on the passage of time.

The core message of the poem is to focus on what we love. Instead of chasing after time, it’s more fulfilling to invest our energy in things that bring us joy and meaning. Love and passion can make time feel less significant. When we are truly engaged with something we care about, it creates a sense of timelessness and fulfillment that schedules and plans cannot provide.

Writing this poem was an attempt to express the idea that life is too precious to be spent constantly worrying about time. Instead, we should focus on our passions and the moments that make life worthwhile. By doing so, we can create a richer, more fulfilling experience that transcends the relentless march of time.
